This is a long-awaited, much anticipated conference and promises to be educational, fun and a great opportunity for women across arboriculture professions to come together.

The conference will be held at the Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort & Conference Centre in Parksville, on Vancouver Island, March 21-23, 2012.

There will be childcare* , ecoscooters, fireplaces, BBQ and of course a world-class spa**. Dogs are welcome. While there are excellent restaurants on the grounds, most rooms and all cabins have kitchen facilities, and a local grocery store will deliver.
*You may book childcare when making your accommodation reservations. Tigh-Na-Mara will arrange a Recreation Program for six or more children, with programs such as Dinner and Movie, Paint a T-shirt and/or Kids Club.
**Tigh-Na-Mara offers Grotto Spa Group Specials, which will be available during the conference.
Conference Rates: Special conference rates per night of $109 plus tax for rooms and $129 plus tax for suites will apply to all of our attendees for the entire week and into the weekend.
Room reservations may be made at Tigh-Na-Mara resort by calling 1-800-663-7373 or 250-248-2072. Please identify yourself as attending the Women's Arboriculture Conference and provide the code # 10B60T. You cannot reserve a room on their website with our conference code. A block of rooms has been reserved for this conference with special rates. These rates will be extended prior to and following the conference. Units not reserved by February 20th, 2012 will be released back to general inventory, so please book ahead!
When you reserve your room, you may also arrange ground transportation between the Resort and local airports
and ferry terminals.

Our Keynote speaker is Kathleen Wolf, Ph.D., Research Social Scientist from the University of Washington.
Workshop Speakers are:
- Brenda Callan, Mycologist with Canadian Forest Service Natural Resources Canada
- Susan Murray, professor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University; Langley, BC
- Sheila Flint, arborist and horticulturalist, from Strathcona County Recreation Department, Sherwood Park, Alberta -first Canadian to win the National Arbor Day Award in 2010
- Karen Cummins, organic master gardener, landscape designer, arborist and horticulturalist
- Tracy Ferreira, IPM Coordinator at The Butchart Gardens, Victoria, BC
- Theresa Kishkan, author of Mnemonic: A Book of Trees
- Nancy Turner, Ph.D.,ethnobotanist and professor in Ethnoecology.
- Nancy McLean is a registered landscape architect and professional planner currently working for the Corporation of Delta as the Development Planner, Community Planning and Development.
